I'm sorry but my counseling practice is currently closed due to a medical and mental health issue. I miss you and the work! I am keeping myself occupied with a little project, I launched a YouTube Channel and would love to connect with you there.

  • About Debbie McJimsey

Are you looking for a therapist that is a “good fit” for you? Searching for the right therapist is challenging, and I offer this information to give you a sense of what it would be like to work together. Feel free to call or email if you have any questions. I offer a free telephone consultation and offer excellent referrals if I am not the right fit for your particular circumstance.

I work with individuals and children on a wide range of issues including anxiety, perfectionism, and depression. With couples-counseling, I provide support through life transitions or with re-connecting/rekindling loving feelings.

I also specialize in families touched by adoption, including counseling for birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptive children. This includes trauma, grief and loss, and attachment, adjustment, unplanned pregnancy, multiracial family building, and managing stress due to waiting and uncertainties of the adoption process. Another specialty is in unique emotional needs of ‘gifted’ children and families. I work in the Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova communities to provide support and services related to giftedness, including coaching parents and teachers on communication and managing the over-excitabilities and asynchronous development with gifted children.

I believe that the process of therapy is unique to every person. I draw from a variety of sources to meet your individual personality, interests, and goals. I often use strengths-based and solution-focused therapy, primarily I have an attachment focus, with a humanistic style. Our sessions will be engaging and supportive. I look forward to working with you!

    Debra McJimsey, LMFT #83485.
